Terry Loane - Piano
My musical interests and influences are very broad, and I have had a disgracefully varied career as a performing musician, playing in a variety of styles on a variety of instruments ranging from the tin whistle to the xylophone. In recent years I have focused my attention on playing jazz piano, and I feel I have finally found the right music for me to play.
Daniel Silverstone - Sax
Jazz has been a significant feature and factor in my life since my mid teens. I am deeply immersed in its music, culture, social history, politics, urban myths & influences. I am so glad to have the opportunity now to play some of the great tunes in the modern jazz repertoire with my friends in EJQ.
Greg Loops - Bass
From my earliest memories as a child music has always caught my attention and interest. In later years I have become more interested specifically in Jazz due to its improvisational and interactive nature. In the last several years, I have been spending more and more time developing and learning my instruments and the music by practicing on my own and playing with others. Now playing with EJQ, I'm finding ever increasing rewards from the experience of performing with, and learning more about the music, the culture and the history of the genre from my fellow EJQ band members.
James Lewis - Drums
My interest in jazz and in particular jazz drums began at a very early age after hearing a recording of “Drummin’ Man” by Gene Krupa. This recording set me on a road to become a professional musician.
I have always regarded “jazz” as a true art form. The spontaneous composition when improvising, the re-interpreting of classic tunes and melodies requires a deep understanding of the instrument, and the remarkable thing about it is that each night it’s different.
Working with some incredible musical talent over the years, for me playing jazz with other like minded musicians is an indescribable feeling, but one that I get playing with the EJQ.
